A Little History

Up until 2015 we had hot springs in our village – warm water coming straight from the mountain. This attracted many pilgrims and trekkers, bringing prosperity to our village.

Unfortunately the earthquake on 25th April 2015 with a magnitude of 8.1 devastated Nepal and caused the water table in our village to drop. As a result we no longer have hot springs but we can still offer you comfortable accommodation and warm hospitality as you trek along the Tamang Heritage trail.

It wasn’t just our village that was affected in 2015 as the Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) killed nearly 9,000 people and injured nearly 22,000 across the country. The country continues to rebuild even to this day.
